The following medications should not be taken before the planned date of tests:

  • 1 week before the prick tests and 3 weeks before the patch tests, you should not take antibiotics,
  • 2 weeks before the tests, do not take antihistamines or steroids regardless of the route of administration (nasal drops, ointments, tablets, inhalation drugs). The exceptions are Diphergan, Ketotifen, which should not be taken 1 month before the tests and Clemastin, which should not be taken 3 weeks before the tests,
  • The calcineurin inhibitors (Cyclosporin, Elidel, Protopic) should not be taken 2 weeks before the test.
  • 1 week prior to testing, H2 blockers used for gastric ulcer disease (Ranigast, Controloc) should not be taken.
  • Do not take pseudoephedrine derivatives (Disophrol, Sudafed, Cirrus), vasoconstrictors (Otrivin, Nasivin), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), analgesics: Aspirin, Polyphyrin, Nurofen, Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, beta-blockers, Aviomarin.

Drugs are pills, syrups, nose drops, ointments on the skin. Do not use body lotions in the morning of testing and in the evening of the previous day.
